Dying to Bloom Natural Burial Boutique of Nyack to Debut Urns Designed by N.J. Artist

Urns are a growing alternative to costly, traditional burials, but also works of art for final resting places

Nyack, NY (December 2, 2019) – There are varying levels of “green” when it comes to final disposition. Although green burial is at the top of the eco-friendly list, many are choosing cremation as an alternative to conventional burial.

The National Funeral Directors Association last year predicted in its Cremation & Burial Report that the national cremation rate would reach 80% by 2035. It’s been steadily on the rise since 2005. That’s not surprising, as the NFDA estimates the average cost of a burial funeral in 2017 was $8,755 (not including cemetery plot fees).

Urns have become more than simply an economical alternative to burials. They have also become works of art.

Dying to Bloom, the Natural Burial Boutique located in Nyack, N.Y., will be debuting a new line of urns Friday, December 6th, 2019, by artist Gloria Dobbs of Bloomfield, N.J., the Founder and Creative Director of Lovely Urns ( Dying to Bloom’s Owner and Founder, Kerry Potter, is hosting a wine and cheese reception where you can meet Ms. Dobbs. The various pieces on display will be available for purchase.

“It is a true honor to help families find the right urn for their loved one. We also transfer the cremains to urns and keepsakes with a sacred respect. If you have a loved one’s ashes, please stop in to see Gloria’s beautiful urns along with our unique selection,” said Kerry Potter, Dying to Bloom.

“I draw inspiration for my unique urns from the boundless beauty of nature, the serenity of ocean waters, frequent botanical garden visits and the love and belief that Angels do exist and walk with us in our everyday lives. My late husband, Ron, who encouraged me to turn my passion for clay manufacturing into the urns I produce today, is always at my side, in my heart, and in my work,” said Gloria Dobbs, Lovely Urns.

The wine and cheese reception event with Ms. Dobbs is Friday, December 6th, from 5:30-7:30pm and Saturday, December 7th, 2019, from noon to 4pm, at Dying to Bloom, located at 48 Burd Street, Suite 101 in Nyack, N.Y. Ms. Dobbs’ urns will also be featured at Dying to Bloom from noon-4 on Sunday, December 8th.
