      Make things happen: Maker Party at Maker Depot

      Welcome to the third Maker Party here at @Maker Depot, New Jersey's largest Makerspace! This July we will be hosting our free event with lots of giveaways, education, games, VR and lots of things to do! Agenda is as follows! We are very excited to share a lot of innovation from our members, partners, and startups that present amazing innovation here at Maker Depot! We are taking a bold step forward. We will be hosting the event for the whole weekend, which means two fantastic days of innovation and experiential learning! For both days, Doors Open at 1:00 pm. This event is Free to attend for any audiences. It is also child-friendly, so if you want a day out with your kids and want them to foster #STEM learning! Agenda for Day 1: Saturday, July 13th is as follows! 2:00-3:00 - Registration, tours, Opening notes, and raffle! Track 1: 3:00-4:00 - Intro to 3D Printing: Demo In this session, we will be talking about how 3D Printing can foster innovation. We will be covering the basics such as: how to get started with 3D Printing, what are the materials, what programs to use, and how to 3D Print anything, anytime, anywhere. Key Takeaways: Your own 3D Printed Design. a cool 3D Printed Keychain Activity attendee Limit: 10 General Attendee Limit: 20 Track 2: 3:00-4:00 - Intro to Laser Cutting: Demo Did you know that there is a machine that can cut and etch materials like wood and acrylic to shape, size, artwork and more! In our facility, we have two big named laser cutters from Epilog and Boss. We will be teaching you how to cut and etch wood to make a cool design.  Key Takeaways: A laser cut trinket for you to take away! Activity Attendee Limit: 15 General Attendee Limit: 15 Track 1: 4:00-5:00 - Intro to programming: Demo Have you ever wondered how websites and apps are made? Maybe you have a child that wants to get into programming; this is one of the most relaxed sessions you do not wish to miss because that is exactly what we will be teaching the crowd! We will be going over python as a programming language Key Takeaways: Lots of learning! General Attendee Limit: 30 Track 2: 4:00-5:00 - Intro to Woodworking One of the classic ways to get learn how things are made by learning WOODWORKING! Woodworking has been around for ages and one of the key things to learn here is how to make simple furniture. General Attendee Limit: 30 Track 1: 5:00-6:00 - Intro to robotics Robots are fun, cute and let us be honest: there is a lot we can learn from them! In this session, you will learn the basics of electronics and robotics. Featuring this month and all day long is BattleRoller! The upcoming Kickstarter game is an RPG where you get to design and 3D Print your character and play a board game with it!
